Father’s Day Wishes from Dr. Kovtun!
What it means to be a father…..
You open the door and hear screams of “PAPAAA!” You hear pitter patter of fast moving feet, embraced and hugged by lots of little faces and hands. You’ve had a hard day at work, you’re tired, but your face lights up and your grin lifts your ears.
You sit down for dinner and get to answer lots of serious questions like “where does the water go when I flush” or “dad why do you keep cutting your hair so short, why not let it grow out”. These moments are precious and I get to relive my own child hood memories vicariously through creating new ones with them.
Being a father is the best and yet hardest job I have, there are no breaks, no weekends off, no vacations or sick days….but the salary I get in return is in the form of their smiles, whispers of “read me a book’ or “I love you dad” and pays back such big dividends, that makes this a 24hr a day job, that I can never get tired of doing.
Happy Father’s day to all those dads who also feel truly blessed to have a full time job they love, called “fatherhood” 🙂
